Minister Rajnath Singh's Interaction with Students

On Tuesday, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh held a discussion with 30 outstanding higher secondary students from the tribal communities of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands at South Block in New Delhi. This interaction was part of a week-long National Unity Journey, 'Aarohan: From Islands to Delhi,' organized by the Andaman and Nicobar Command (ANC). The students are also set to witness the Independence Day celebrations at the Red Fort on August 15, 2025.

During the conversation, the Defense Minister emphasized the significance of humanitarian values, stating they are crucial for character development. He encouraged the students to remain steadfast in these values and to balance their academic pursuits with character building. Singh urged them to face every challenge with confidence and courage, inspiring them to contribute to making India one of the most powerful nations in the future, and wished them success in their endeavors.

Expressing his affection for the visiting students, the minister presented them with sweets and concluded the meeting by gifting traditional souvenirs crafted by local tribal artisans from the islands. Rajnath Singh praised this unique initiative supported by the Integrated Defense Staff Headquarters, Delhi Area Headquarters, and the civil administration of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Chief of Defense Staff General Anil Chauhan and Chief of Integrated Defense Staff Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit were also present during this interaction.

The 'Aarohan: From Islands to Delhi' journey aims to familiarize youth from remote island communities with India's rich cultural heritage, modern infrastructure, and educational opportunities. The itinerary includes visits to iconic sites such as the Red Fort, India Gate, National War Memorial, and the Taj Mahal, as well as prominent institutions like Delhi Technological University and the National Science Center. This program reflects the government's commitment to promoting national integration and empowering future leaders from the islands.
